7 Ways to Encourage Entrepreneurism in your Community

1. Involve youth in brainstorming and idea generating activites. Look at our youth entrepreneurism section for youth entrepreneurship programs.
2. Sponsor an annual contest for employees to generate the best business improvement idea. Employees often have great ideas, but no one asks their opinions.
3. Host a Best-of-(your community) competition and publicize the results online and visibly in your community.
4. Make sure you have the amenities for your youth to stay/return to your community after college.
5. Refocus people's conversions from criticizing to proposing solutions. Entrepreneurship requires using a different part of the brain - and stimulating your brain toward solutions encourages entrepeneurship and business improvement.
6. Implement a 3-50 program, encouraging people to adopt three independent businesses and spend $50 a month with them.
7. Set up mentorships for new businesses so they don't waste precious time and money because of inexperience.
