The SBA reports that 36.5% of businesses operate full time as a sole proprietorship;
the same percentage operates part time. Approximately 21% operate as either an S or a C corporation, and 5.9% operate
as partnerships. (The federal government does not recognize LLCs, so they are classified as partnerships
or sole proprietorships).
