You will discover an unprecedented array of information and services for California’s small businesses and potential entrepreneurs.

The Tools are hosted by local cities, counties, chambers and economic development agencies that want to help your business succeed. Click on the map to go to the Tools in your area. You can enter any of these sites to learn about the forms you need to comply with federal and state laws, loans and financing programs, how to market globally, disaster planning and recovery, making sustainable business decisions, and much more.

The Tools are offered as a service through the California Academy for Economic Development in partnership with the California Association for Local Economic Development, local hosts, and sponsors.

Sponsors help low-income communities host the Tools

The Tools have state-wide and local sponsor opportunities. State-wide sponsors fund the Tools program and expansion as well as Tools scholarships for low-income communities.

Local sponsorships are negotiated with the individual hosts.
